Your Care

We promote holistic, individualised care and strive to maintain the dignity, privacy, respect and independence of our residents within a happy, family atmosphere. We are sensitive and responsive to our residents needs and provide for them accordingly.

We like to think of St Andrew’s as one big extended family and our door is always open to welcome family and friends to spend time with their loved ones and to talk with us. We encourage residents and their relatives to share with us as much information regarding their lives, what they used to do, their likes and dislikes, skills and abilities, hobbies and pastimes so that we can help residents live their life as they wish it and so we can communicate with them in a meaningful and positive way.

“The most wonderful place with such care and love. What a joy to visit my mother here and take part in the parties, music and beautiful food. We couldn’t have been happier knowing my mother was in safe, loving hands.”
“They bring the true meaning to the title Care and Home.”

External Support

External Health Care Professionals who support St Andrew’s

We have an excellent relationship with all local medical surgeries and community health teams. Our GPs come to visit regularly which means that they know our residents well and often are able to diagnose and treat a condition before it becomes a problem.

Other health care professionals, for example District Nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists provide extra professional support as and when required.

“People were supported to access health professionals when needed and staff worked closely with people’s GPs to ensure their health and well-being was monitored.”

We also have a podiatrist/chiropodist and a hairdresser who visit the home on a regular basis. Dental and optician visits can be arranged.

Clergy of various denominations will visit our residents upon request and hold a short service for them.

Review Meetings

We have regular meetings with our residents, relatives and healthcare professionals to review and respond to any change in our resident’s needs. In addition to this, we actively encourage family and friends to come and visit and share a meal with their loved one.

“There was a clear vision to deliver high-quality care and support and promote a positive culture that was person-centred, open, inclusive and empowering which achieved good outcomes for people.”

Palliative Care

We all understand that this is a very sad and difficult period and we talk with relatives about their loved one and discuss their wishes and we strive to help them through this difficult time.
